Practical Oral English for Travel Industry Personnel

This course aims to improve both oral and written English skills of students who are working in the tourism industry.

A module from the "Diploma in Travel & Tourism Operations Studies" & "Diploma in Airline Operations Studies".

 

1.  Basic skills in communicating with English speaker
    Understanding different cultures and skills in communicating with English speaker
2  English in Operation
 

 2.1 Greeting customers
    Introduction of oneself and one's company
 2.2 Basic Telephone Skills
    Taking reservations
    Leaving and taking messages
    Handling general enquiries
 2.3 Introducing and recommending facilities, services and itineraries to customers
 2.4 Making and cancelling reservations for air tickets, hotel rooms, sight-seeing tours,
    package tours and car rentals
 2.5 Visa Application
    Explaining the application procedures to customers
 2.6 Explaining to customers the payment and refund procedures of different payment methods,
    including cash, credit card & cheque
 2.7 Handling complaints, face-to-face and over the phone

 

 
Admission Requirement
1) Form Five Standard
2) Acceptance is subject to the discretion of HKTT
Medium
The course is conducted in English.
Notes are supplied in English.
Course Period 10 lessons (Total 25 hours)
Course Fee $1,350
Course Subsidy Subsidized by Vocational Training Council
50% of the course fee may be refunded and VTC certificate may be awarded to participant who is a full-time/part-time tourism industry employee with less than three years working experience in the field.
Award of Certificate In order to complete the course and receive certification, students must attend at least 80% of the course and pass the assessments.
